Parasites
Arriving at
the conclusion that he would not go,
He set out to make inquiries about acceptance
Acceptance to the self-made claims that he was found naïve enough to continue taking actions as though this world was filled with significance, that the words spoken to him had truth behind them, that they affected him, which they did, and that in his intellectual universe, he was the central character
And that a pat on his back or on his hair, or a caress, meant that the person doing so, cared about him
Perhaps, the person did, at least momentarily
He carried three barrels on a cart, and when he was asked if he would go,
He shook his head with that ever effervescent smile of his
His feet were too corned for his age, his clothes dusty, and his mind resolute to continue staying and abide by what his fragile aged intelligence or that of the person who looked after him, felt was right.
When he walked, he walked ahead of the pack
Through the dusty alleyway leading to his house, I got a snippet of him looking at himself in the mirror and combing his hair
He continues and will continue to smile, but what that smile hides, his eyes show better
He may not want to go to school but he knows more about the world than a 10 year old should
The world is a craphole filled with selfish people looking to satisfy their own interests, many times, at the expense of others
We’re parasites
And, I am one of them
And he is one too, and he'll become more self-indulgent as he grows
Else, he shall perish.
